I always enjoy the smell of cedar in the woodstove....what are some of your favorite woods to burn from an aroma perspective ?

Cedar, apple, sugar maple and cherry . . .

from an aroma perspective... first pear, then apple, then hickory, then cherry.... the pear and apple do not ever reach the stove.....they are for my smoker.... the chicken they make... mmmmmmmmmmmmm :D

Sassafras.

Fruit woods.

I've never burnt sassafras... though after your post, I may locate some... After googling...I know I have seen those leaves before...

I don't smoke any meats but I have used apple and cherry in my grill.

I don't spend enough time in the woodstove to appreciate what it smells like in there.
