we have a pre-existing chimney hole from a propane stove that I want to use. Are there pellet stoves that vent in the middle of the back? My understanding is that the chimney/pellet stove vent is either on the right or the left on the back of the stove. Thank you.

Yes most are off set to one side. You can off set the vent with a 45 deg elbow to center the pipe for looks
