Hello....this is a air nozzle that I rigged up to clean the horshoe area. It is an air gun with the tip removed and a compression fitting and a 20 inch piece of brake line. The line is soft enough to bend as needed. I was able to drill a very small hole, quarter inch and then seal it with a bit of high temp silicone. I would think since you upgraded to the higher cfm blower you should be able to have your air wash opened to at least 50%. I have my air wash open 2 inches. It keeps an area completly clean and the rest get dirty. It's just something I have learned to live with. I have yet to put in the bigger blower. I have tweaked mine to run perfectly with the smaller one.The dusty black residue doesn't sound good at all.View attachment 154733

You mean leaks in the piping? If so it has been an issue since the day it was installed... :-(

Where else could it leak from? Is there a way to test for leakage ?

Dark room and light the stove and when the stove is smoking and tryIng to fire up look for the smoke with a flashlight. I got a new toy, a green laser and it really spots smoke

Just did my monthly big clean. I use the exact same setup for my blow gun. It wasn't that dirty but I wanted to make sure the slots on either side of the heat exchanger tubes were clear. Got some dog fur out of my room blower and lubed my combustion fan and cleaned the impeller. I cleaned the vent piping, made sure my OAK was clear and fired it up. On setting four, I have 325 degrees air coming out of the tubes.

As for the auger noise....If I listen carefully, I can hear the auger gear motor cycle on and off. It's not loud at all but you can hear it if you listen. I'm wondering if your auger was binding, if the gear motor would make more noise, especially if it was pressed hard against the stop. That would act like a sounding board.

As for the auger noise....If I listen carefully, I can hear the auger gear motor cycle on and off. It's not loud at all but you can hear it if you listen. I'm wondering if your auger was binding, if the gear motor would make more noise, especially if it was pressed hard against the stop. That would act like a sounding board.

Also check that white Delron Auger bearing around the bottom of the auger above the collar with the set screw. These bearings can melt and get out of shape, then they should be replaced.

Our stove with a very good wood pellet produces 168° Celsius (334f) on setting 2, it runs very well now and produces incredible heat but the noise, leakage of ash and window are the issues now.

My husband was told that the noise may be an issue with the brass bushings and the armature is vibrating causing the odd sound.

I may get a clip of the noise and upload it so everyone can hear it, it us a very odd sound.

Heather, here is the thing. If you open the side doors on that stove and look below where the auger motor is and see if there is any sawdust there, then that is where the black crap is coming from. We learned the hard way on our baby. Here is what is happing the auger gasket/ bushing is leaking the saw dust very fine is falling down and getting picked up by the room air fan and then that goes straight to your super hot heat exchanger becomes charred and most goes right out into your room. Also in time you can wind up with sparks or a fire/ coming out from the build up. PIA to clean out heat exchanger but can be done. Auger bushing needs to be changed ASAP if you see sawdust. Hope this helps.

That is exactly what it is, we do in fact have a small amount of sawdust that builds up. I will be purchasing the new part ASAP.

Where should I purchase it? We have purchased from east coast hearth twice but I was wondering if there are other options available?

That is the website I was thinking but I didn't want to assume. We also use east coast hearth but they really screwed us on our last order and we ended up paying considerably more for a part that we could have purchased cheaper elsewhere. It ended up being $68 more than noted on their website. :-(

Received the parts in the mail ages ago, funny thing is my husband stuck them to the side of the fridge in our garage and hadn't even attempted to fix the issue.

Sawdust is still coming through and the noise is still happening ( not as bad but definitely happening).

What could happen if this doesn't get fixed? I am so damn tired of things being put off with this stove, it ends up costing far more money than necessary! If I had full use of my hands I would attempt to fix the issues myself, unfortunately I have Multiple Sclerosis and have difficulty opening a zip lock bag without struggling let alone fix something!

The Camadian Province levies additional duties and tariffs for different regions on imported merchandise based on it's value. We have no control over that and they do no tell us. Many of our competitors and manufacturers will not ship to CA for that reason. We try to get the parts thru and have had very few complaints. If you contact your local government and find anything we can do better, please let us know.
It is possible that if the auger bearing is not replaced, then the sawdust that piles up in the bottom of the stove can be picked up by the room blower and blown out into the room as hot embers. This can be dangerous and should be fixed.

I am looking at drilling the cleaning port on my baby magnum I just updated the auger bearing and have not fired it as of yet. The details as to where would be a great help.
