I have purchased and eighties built condo which has a stud and drywall framed column (extending floor to ceiling) enclosing a wood burning fireplace insert. I was considering the possibility of changing the insert box out for a double sided box....the fire could be seen from the living room and dining. Any thoughts on both difficulty, complications and costs of such a conversion? I appreciate any advice...thanks!
