that brings back good memories. Enjoy. It's a beautiful stove and a great heater.

That looks to be in real good shape, did you clean it up or was it like that when you bought it?

Webby how many stoves do you have? Looks like every year you run a different one. It looks very sharp.

That's very nice.

Around here they would be selling it for 2900, since a new one is 3200. And it wouldn't be a Mansfield, it would be an H1. You did good.

Congrats on the rock webby. They are a beautiful and great radient heater that is more gentle than metal stoves. The key is to keep her up and running non-stop!

I loved my hearthstone but she simply wasn't big enough for my home.

Which one did you remove?

OMG, i love the looks of that stove. I'd of jumped on that in a heartbeat for $600. Sweet deal.

The Buck 51.

Only a few. I have 2 flues in the house, so I've always got 2 stoves.

Congrats. I've been burning my Equinox for 2 full weeks and absolutely LOVE it. Only thing to watch for are the door bolts. Quite a few posts about them breaking too easily and I had the same thing happen to me. Not sure if your older stove would have the same part but probably.

Our Manny came from CL also..Paid a bit more, but not a lot, (only two seasons on it, enameled, $1200) and had to drive across 2 states.. but it's an awesome heater.

I really think the Mansfield is one of the best looking stoves out there. And more importantly.. she does too.

Sweet!

A Mansfield and an Ashford heating the house. I am so jealous. [emoji22]

Wow that is a score ! And a perty one.
Is that how much they listed it for or did you talk them down to that? ==c

Sweet, I have always had a liking for that big chuck of stone. Wife doesn't like it or we might have had one.

Your "find" is incredible and the picture of the stove, even after you painted it, looks ... brand-spanking-NEW.

Indeed, WHAT a buy you scored, Webby. Congratulations to you & your family's radiant heating now and throughout the winter seasons to come!!

She hates the duck feet and thinks the stove looks too old fashioned. Needless to say, we don't always agree.

Great score, webby! How old is it? I've seen that style of door with the textured corners, on CL on occasion. Besides the most recent facelift, were there other changes in the styling along the way? I know on the latest version, the 'duck feet' are gone, but before that I think they always had 'em (I like 'em, myself.) Is this the first stone stove you've run? I'd love to play with a tube stove at some point...guess I should start looking at CL once in a while.

It is my first stone stove. Ive serviced a lot of them, they seem to hold up well and always have pretty clean flues. It is 10 years old, I bought it from the original owner. It was a little old lady, only used it on Sunday's!

Dammit, that's too good a deal! Come on, somebody give him some crap....tell him the stove looks too close to the wall or something. ;lol
What's involved with re-painting the frame, just mask it off with tape? No problem with the paint staining the stone? I've heard the stone is impervious, but if you get a chunk of SuperCedar on the unpolished stone on the Woodstocks, the wax will soak in...

Ya, just mask it off and let we rip! It's very easy. I figured someone would mention the rear clearances or the wood floor.

I almost bought an older Equinox with the same duck feet. I didn't want to say anything but .... since it's been brought up - I hated the duck feet too and the added problem was that it was 3 full days of driving. Soooo, no go. I would knit little booties to go on the feet. ;lol;lol Quack, quack. - awesome buy.

I wouldn't paint the cast iron myself. I put stove polish on my old VC just prior to selling it and I really thought it looked better with the antique silver look of the metal before i finished it.. It just looks classier that way to me rather than straight black.
