Anyone use damp rid in their stove during the off season?

No, but I set a drirod under each stove before closing the fireplace doors for the summer.

I just close the main door to keep the cat (F. domesticus) out of the firebox, leave the combustor bypassed so I am not compressing that gasket all 2 months of summer...maybe this year I'll pull the ashplug to get a little better airflow through the interior.

Some years I've stuck a box of baking soda inside the firebox . . . but most years I just clean it out and call it good.
