In carbon steel blades, hard edge/ hard back for metal, better but more dollars bi-metal blades. These also come in variable pitch. wood is forgiving vs tooth count, metal not so. # teeth /in depends on thickness of material ( by the way on bandsaw blades you count the # of gullets in an inch for the tooth count) More teeth slower it cuts. like hack saw blades min. 2 teeth in material. in tubing only the wall thickness counts for blade selection. Example thinwall electric conduit 14 tpi or more, Plumbing pipe 10 tpi will work.
 
Most recommend about 1.75 hp on a 14" saw today. Just look at what most of the better brands are shipping on their 14" saws.

I've honestly never used a bandsaw that small, so have no barometer for comparison. But I've used countless under-powered bandsaws, and it's beyond frustrating. Don't skimp!
