Yes secondary combustion stoves are a very simple concept. But designing a system that works well and is durable is anything but simple. I have seen many homemade secondary combustion sytems is stoves. And most dont seem to work at all and many are warped and twisted. Some crack welds or stove sides because expansion was not accounted for.
