Is this worth painting half a house for a guy? I will get all this logging leftovers. I will have to chunk it and take it home or process it all on site. Just wanted to know if you think its worth a day of work painting to get this wood.

Depends on 1) whether you need firewood and 2) whether you can get firewood elsewhere for free. I am debating offering to do a guy's tax return, in exchange for him continuing to drop off log loads at my buddy's house where we can process it. Thing is, I would want the equivalent of 30+ cords of hardwood dropped off in return for 1 year's tax return at a max value of $500.
The worth in firewood isn't having it in log form, but in bucking it and splitting it. Dropping a tree is usually pretty simple. The tough work comes once the tree is on the ground.

Who's house is it? Unless its the owner of the logging company's house.I wouldn't do it. If its just a foreman or supervisor of the logging company...by pass him and call the owner and ask for the wood to be delivered in your yard.
It's not the processing of that wood that would be a terrible pain but the way it's piled. Looks like a broken ankle waiting to happen. If they were willing to help with their logging equipment it would go a long way in my decision.
I know wood has no value to some until its split and stacked, but there is a lot of work just dropping and bucking the stuff up so that you can get it back to your processing area. It would take me more than a days work to get that much wood cut and hauled out of somewhere. If they could help sort out the mess and help with transport or at least loading, I personally think the proposed barter is a good deal. Some will disagree with me though.
I'd be all over it. It's all straight trunk pieces with easy access. Then again, I'm a cheapskate and probably don't put as high a price tag on my time as I should. Sometimes the amount of time I spend on a project to do it myself for free would have been much cheaper to pay to have someone else do it. I like the satisfaction that comes with doing stuff myself.
I am thinking he has to get rid of that wood, so either he will have to do it himself or pay someone to do it. The only way I'd go for it if he agrees to deliver it to your house. I hate when people try to take advantage of others I might be wrong but that's what he is doing to you.

Looks to me like 2 guys wanting to get rid of the mess they made and are going to charge you to do it. I would call them and give them a price of 65 bucks per man to clean it up.
I don't think the guy is taking advantage of anyone
He doesn't want the wood, OP does, and the guy needs his house painted. I get wood for free, so I wouldn't do it, but some people don't have that hookup. If you can't get good wood for free elsewhere, why not take him up on it if you need wood?

The owner of the wood is my father's best friend and the two guys are my father and brother in the pics ha. 
Yes I should probably take the wood for free to clean up the unsightly mess. But he "my dads friend" has the southern end of his house he wants repainted it will only be a days worth of work only about 600 sq ft. So I feel its not that big of a deal. And there is probably 30-40 full chord there and I will sell probably 10 full chord and recoop some money.

If the work is easy for you, do the trade. Bartering is how the world worked for a long time and if you feel the trade is fair go for it. The pic must not show it all if there's 30 cords there. If that's the case I wouldn't even hesitate
10 cords around here would be 1500-2000 bucks. Seems like more than enough to pay yourself for a days worth of painting, plus you get a bunch of free wood for yourself

Yes they do but that wood looked pretty dirty and you will be sharpening chains like crazy.

Get it off the ground and let the rain help you w/ the dirt the rest is smooth sailin imho. I hate painting but it don't sound like a bad deal.
is there a time limit for removal? Thats a job that will take a number of days and a number of men and again the way it is stacked makes it more dangerous then if it was properly piled. I wouldn't be in that pile without a tractor to pull logs down and away safely to work on. the value of 30 cord unprocessed log length wood is about 3100 to 3500 depending on species...hardwood of course. But that includes gas, delivery, and appropriate stacking with a crane on a semi stacked right next to my backdoor. That is going to be a chit ton of work to haul. How far away is house to pile? that makes a difference as well.

Just one cut could cause one of those logs to shift and instant broken bone or worse. I know lots of people work on piles like this but that is also where a lot of injuries originate from
It sure sounds like a good deal for you. And the personal connection will probably pay off in the future.
If it was me I'd hook a buddy up with some wood in exchange for dropping by and giving you a couple hours help. From the looks of it you probably need a partner anyway.
