[Hearth.com] Dura Vent Dura Plus / Double Wall [Hearth.com] Dura Vent Dura Plus / Double Wall Good evening

I just installed a DuraVent through the wall kit and have a stainless steel chimney adaptor that I and trying to connect a DuraPlus double wall pipe to. I am going to call the company Monday to see if they tell me how to connect. I have ended up with a stainless steel adaptor that the double wall can slip on to but no means of securing the pipe to the adaptor except to drill holes in the adaptor from the exterior of the pipe. Which could be the way. There basically aren't any instructions. Anyone fimiliar with this connection. Thank you

On the interior of the house the adapter is meant to connect to DuraVent DVL pipe, not to DuraPlus. DuraPlus is class A chimney pipe. DVL is interior connector pipe.

On the interior the pipe is Double wall Dura vent so that is correct. Maybe I misphrase it. The interior piping is all good. I have the stainless Duraplus through the wall and up the wall.

Thank you

The DVL pipe has three holes in the end of pipe, you need to drill your holes to get through the ss adapter ring.

I bought the through the wall kit at Home Depot. The instructions are not clear. The "chimney adaptors" that came in the box are outdated. The chimney adaptor needs to have a black trim piece that slids over the double wall so you can screw it together. Anyone attempting to install one these needs to be very careful. I would contact the manufacturer and speak to an informed tech person to do the install properly. Very dangerous with the wrong parts and real poor or no instructions.

I think you're missing a piece.

I could see the one you have being used for single wall pipe but I don't know how you would secure that using double wall.

That is the piece I just ordered. It wasn't included in the box. The product is good but the instructions are horrible. Very dangerous the way it is sold. I had to fabricate sheet metal to connct the inner and outer wall thimble and open the wall and use self tapping screws to join the thimbles together. If you don't connect the thimbles you can pull the interior on off the wall with the stove pipe connected. I don't know if anyone in the company ever installed one but they can read you the instructions. Great.
