We are remodelling a cottage for use as a vacation rental unit. Insurance will not allow us to continue using this Crest II as a wood burner. We don't need it as a heat source as the cottage has a propane furnace, but like to offer our guests the ambience of a "fireplace" plus the stove makes a great feature for the living room. We don't have the cash flow to support a propane stove (have Quadra-fires in other units) but thought "why not an electric log set?"

Is this doable? I saw a Duraflame that would fit, We would screw a metal screen around the opening to keep hands off the unit.

Looking for advice!
