Up until now, we've always had embers all over the front plate. Flames were relatively even and not hitting the logs. Now that we are using it this year, we've done a thorough cleaning but cannot get the flames at the back of the plate to even out. They are higher than they used to be and actually touching the logs in two spots (I can see and smell it.) Any suggestions? We've moved the embers, this way and that, more embers here, less there... Nothing is making a difference. Any help is appreciated.

One trick that i have used in the past is taking the rockwool and balling it up in your hand and using a stiffer bristle brush (like a fingernail brush for cleaning grease off your hands) you can spread it onto the burner will help even the flames out, is this a older Kozy Heat unit?
