So we have a VC Encore slated to be installed next week in the corner of our living room. There is currently nothing there right now so it’s just a Sheetrock wall.

We are getting a hearth pad for underneath and we were wondering if it’s ok to place the stove in the corner without anything behind the stove on the wall.

As long as you keep all required clearances you will be fine. Different stoves have different clearances. Heat shields can be used to lower your clearance distances if necessary.
