Energex delivered - 3 tons for $695

How have all of you faired with these? I can either get 3 tons of energex delivered for $695, or 3 tons of hamers or turmans delivered for $750. This will be my first real season so I'm looking to buy something good!

Energex is a decent pellet. Good heat but a bit more ash than Turman or Hamers. Good for the fall/spring shoulder season. Your hormon will burn them just fine. But if you looking for the good stuff, You might want the Turmans for a few extra bucks. You'll go longer between cleanings and they will throw more heat. You won't hear many complaints(if any at all) with Turmans. Hamers are also better than the Energex IMHO. But you may hear some complain of clinkers.

Don't just take my word for it, See what the other members have to say. But I'm betting many will vote Turman's!

Nothing to say on the Turman's as I've never tried them, but I've had great results with the Hamers (no clinkers here, just great heat).

Can't say anything good or bad about Turmans either as I've never been able to get them, but I've used the Hamers and loved them. They throw awesome heat and were the best pellet I've burned so far. Would love to try Turmans though, especially based on what everyone keeps saying about them. For $250 a ton delivered I would hop all over that. I can't get Hamers for less than $280 ton and that's with buying bulk of 3 tons or more. Otherwise it's $295 ton.

You can't go wrong with the Hamers either but I give the slight nod to Turman......they are my fav!

I actually tried some Energex at the end of last season. I agree they are a good pellet for the shoulder season. For $55 difference I would definitely go with the Turman. I've tried Hamers in the past, but that was probably 4 years ago so I can't really compare Turman and Hamers.

For me, the answer would be yes, but that's me. I am assuming you can't split up the 3 tons and get 1 ton of Energex and 2 tons of Turman? If you could do that, that's what I would do. If you can't, I would buy Turman. Others would disagree! There is always a healthy debate on this forum about this dilemma every year.

Got my 2 tons from Lowes over the weekend. $209/ton. The only buying I'll do from now on until spring is 4-5 test bags of stuff I've never burned. Gotta get some of the private label Lowes stuff that's supposed to be Somersets.
