I have an Englander 25-pdvc mfd 09/09 and the convection blower doesn't seem to change speed much from 5-9. You can hear it pick up speed from 1 to 5 but from there on out no change. Any answers?
It's a very slight increase from 5-7, and virtually nothing after that, AFAIK. Leave it set on 7 if you want high speed, but mostly just match the heat setting or maybe 1 number above it.
on mine 1-4 slight change 5 starts cranking pretty good, 5-8 slight change 9 really cranks out the air.this is a new convection blower and control board, maybe your blower is getting weak.

Mine does the same, except the blower and control board are original.
Very seldom do I have to set the blower speed above 4.
I just clean the dust bunnies out of the fins on the blower , oil the motor, and use the aircompressor to make sure the airway is clear on the stove twice a year.
One of their techs told me it is already running minimally at 70% speed and consequently you only have the remaining 30% left to play with. This tells me they are playing it safe and the user shouldn`t experience any serious combustion air issues regardless of the heat setting he chooses.
Whoops ! Excuse me , I see the OP was referring to the blower.

The simple motor speed control used really can't handle low speeds. At low speeds it is prone to the motor stalling, so the minimum speed is set high enough that stall cannot happen.
