I'm very impressed with my 30. It is a heating bomb and I haven't pushed it yet. Looks great with legs too.

Great bang for the buck too.

Good luck,
Bill

Good thing, the damn thing weighs enough as it is LOL

No kidding. My old insert would hold a 24" split N/S and had 1/4" plate stove body and 3/8" top plate. Tipped the scales at 654 pounds and I had to pull it out every year to clean the chimney. :ahhh:

+1

As I get older, I am taking note of when my Dad started backing off on his "I'm still as strong as I was when I was 20" and picking and choosing what I need to break my back doing. My Woodstock soapstone stove was HEAVY. It was a pleasure taking off the door, removing the firebricks and ash pan to move the Englander around - much easier. But I still had to rely on my boys to help with moving the thang...

Pulled the old one, brought the new 30 in and installed it and two weeks later had to pull it and exchange it because of a factory defect. All by myself. It took my knees a year to recover. I thought they were shot for the rest of my life.

You guys be careful and get lots of help with these things.
