Enviro EF3 questions

hey everyone. I am new to the pellet world. I did ALOT of searching and reading here on this site. I have gained a bunch of knowledge thanks to everyone on here. I have a few questions though.

my fire seems to be low even with the air adjusted all the way in. running the stove at the "12 o clock" position only shows a flame maybe 3-4 inches above the burn pot, and much lower when the pellets drop into the fire. it takes the flame a few seconds to recover from the new pellets dropping down.

I have burned roughly a 1/2 ton of instant heat pellets. this past weekend I replaced my door gasket and cleaned the stove thoroughly. I decided to remove the exhaust tee and clean it out. it was FULL to the top with grey ash. what could be causing this? crappy pellets? if so, what brand should I buy after these are done.

one last question. with the EF3's what should my typical pellet usage be. right now with the dial set anywhere from 10 and 12 o clock I go through about 1 1/4 bags a day. is this excepted?

First Welcome to the forum.
Adj your air as per manual To much air very generous flame very lively like a blow torch
To little air lazy fire orange flame black tips
The right amount of air nice active flame orange yellow colour( proper English )far amount of sparks

Ash in clean out is normal and should be cleaned about every 1/2 ton.
With the dial a fire set at the 12 o clock position I burn about 3/4 of a bag in 24 hrs
But it isn't the amount you use its the heat you get

thank you. what would make my stove burn over a bag at the same setting you stove burns 3/4 of a bag. do stoves vary from each other? my heat output is good. I am heating 1400 square feet 72 in the living room where the stove is and 69 in the bed rooms. I am using 2 pedestal fans to move the air seems to be working well.

I can't say for sure what the difference is . My strove would run at the 8 o'clock position
when new now the lowest it will run is at the 11 o'clock position. But my stove has run 24/7 for the
last 12 years ( October through April ). I have never had a problem with it ( touch wood ). At the
lowest rate it will run 32 hrs . If I run it on high in very cold weather it will use a bag every 14 hrs but I only
burn Cubix and Comfort pellets both from the same company if that makes a difference .

1 1/4 bag a day does not sound outrageous dependent upon house size, amount of insulation, and so on.

I had problems with a lazyflame with my ef3 last year . over the summer I took it out to the garage for a good cleaning. If you take the fake brick wall off and remove the 3 panels behind it you will see some exhaust ports ...... Mine were plugged up bad . I never new they were even there before I tore it apart I unplugged them and cleaned out the hole exhaust system including the exhaust fan . now it burns like a new stove no more lazy flame and no more burn pot filling up with clinkers and overfflowing ! Now I can run it 2 weeks without even opening the door to clean the burn pot . also there is a high ash burn pot you can buy for it as well . as for amount of pellets used at the 12 o'clock spot I burn about 1.1\4 bag in 24 hours .

Also I noticed amount of pellets used depends on the langth of the pellets . I have burned pellets that are longer at the same setting but last more than 24 hours a bag

the instant heats are a little longer compared to a few bags my buddy gave me. I take the brick panels off each week and clean all behind there. I also take a brush and do the heat exchangers as well. one thing I haven't done is the exhaust blower fan. is that something that can be done fairly quickly. id like to give that a try and see if it helps the inconsistent fire.

Yup only takes about 15 to 20 mins but you should order a new gasket for it before you do it .
