GR, you are not alone. You just tell us about it. My wife professed to not particularly like the whole wood burning thing for years. Then this last winter, after we remodeled the kitchen that summer, I ask her why we couldn't put the table back in the corner of the kitchen (since the remodel we had been eating at the dinning room table which openly adjoins the kitchen.....no big deal, I just wondered what the empty corner was for) Well, she proclaims she wants her own little wood stove in that corner of the kitchen. And of course I got busy and put one in. She just doesn't get on here and talk about it. Hope you feel better.GAMMA RAY said:I see a pattern here....I am the only woman that posted something...where' s all the other chicks dammit????

He struggled with conversation, so I said lets go look at the wood piles. I showed him the stumps in the forest, the chain saw, the splitter and the stacked wood. By the end of the afternoon, he was humoring me and changing the subject.
Thanks tbuff, I see you have the Hearthstone Craftsbury. Funny, I considered it for our kitchen. Can't really remember why I didn't go with it. It looks a lot like my Hampton.tbuff said:TFD, I love how that stove looks, excellent work!

Not at all....that is the highest form of flattery. PM me if you want any details.tbuff said:Steve~
I just showed my wife the brickwork and trim you did on your hearth and she is in love with it... I actually am in the process of re-doing our hearth, so I may be kinda copying ;-)
We love our Craftsbury, does the job perfectly. It is a small stove, but because of the way our house is layed out, it really heats everything almost perfectly even, +/- 2-3'f...
PS. Hope you dont mind that I may be "copy catting"

This is the first obsession that actually provides for the family, gives me exercise, actually saves money, and keeps me at or close to home. What's so crazy? I work with guys who talk non stop about watching sports, or playing golf! At least my obsession is productive.

Already posted, Pan. I thought one crushing defeat would suffice to teach you to respect my honor . . .
BB, Now the doctor made me quit smoking when I broke my back....said I wouldn't heal if I smoked. Soooo, I think asking me to give up my old Buck right now is a little too much ;-PBrotherBart said:Now Chief, give that Buck a decent burial and get another insert in there hauling the freight. :coolsmirk:
