Our older regency insert fan is starting to go off and on near the cool down point , where it should just shut off. It this the fan failing or the thermostat failing?

Mine never cycles but I have heard some whose do during cool down. If this is a new thing maybe you can push the snap stat closer for better contact?

Seems to have fixed itself, maybe some ash stuck somewhere? Just guessing.

Possibly too deep an ash bed insulating the stat?
