It's the longest I've made it since I started burning.

The 30 was the one that bit me. Got it on the forearm just before the elbow and beyond the length of the gloves.

I was reaching in to place a log in the back of the stove.

I have 4 burn marks on my right arm.

Man I hate getting burned .

I got one burn make on my right arm

Me and my wife both have our shares of scars on our arms.....hers from loading the stove.....

Mine, from unloading the toaster oven when the coils are still hot. MAN does that friggin hurt!!

This is my year for burns too.
I changed the overnight loading strategy and it's taking a toll on the top of my thumbs....of all places. I'm amending said strategy as I type
No, I don't wear gloves.
The dogs use 'em as chew toys.

I always use gloves. My hands would look like hell after the burning season, otherwise. It would totally destroy my hand modeling career.

I was wondering why the running total wasn't in your sig this year.

I really don't want to discuss it, but I burned my forehead a while back <>

I lightly singed my nose a few days ago, but I didn't count it.

You're getting better every year! :)

I also have a burn on my hand for forgetting to wear gloves.

You cannot leave THAT one hanging......we need details, and I have a feeling I may get the chuckle I need this evening.

First burn? Heck, I stopped keeping count on October 17th.

My arms looked like hell at the beginning of the burning season, they got so bad I was embarrassed at work that people noticed them, so I obviously wear my gloves but I also have a welders sleeve I wear on my right arm no more burns.

I got a good burn on the top of my forearm last week when I was loading from the top and hit the underneath of the lid bracket... That lid seemed like it fell on my arm in slow motion! Best part was it hit my arm not even an inch from where my glove ends!

I think got one early this season, but none recently. A huge help years ago was getting extra long stove gloves. These things go over the elbow. There hard to find, but someone here had a like to a site thats has them. Only problem is I get lazy and don't use them.

I got burnt the first fire this year...long story short. I lit a fire starter that has like the wax wrapper. When I opened the door to put it in my eyes adjusted to the horror that was before me. The horror was........clumps of stink bugs all around the seal and everywhere! I was freaked but forgot the snake i was holding in my hand until it dripped on me... Woke up at that point. That burned like hell! I tossed in and burned them suckers up!

Lost count after the first 3. The worst one was I was loading E/W:mad: and the top of my arm touched the front air tube. You can actually see the holes in the air tube burnt into my arm

I had the imprint of the door latch on the 13 on my right thumb for a year, perfect match <pun intended & not intended> the first season with it

Snagged my left thumb after stupidly opening the door and just grabbing the poker without putting my gloves on last week. First burn of the season for me.

I probably have the best one. The first year, 2006, with the 30-NC on the raised hearth I went to load it. Still getting used to a single large door. Pulled the door halfway open, squatted down and loaded the wood. Turned my head and laid my chin right on top of that hot cast iron door. Wore that painful burn under my chin for weeks.

Every since then that door swings open ALL the way first.
