Finally got it in !

Quadrafire 5700 steptop with o/s air
long time getting the room ready
but it's in
first full day burning it was about 8 degrees outside with 30-40 mph winds
got better than 15 inchs of snow down and more coming
sure nice to be warm........
you guys were right
got it hot enough and she started pulling off the clothes
cant tell you where she stopped
lol
thanks for the good info along the way

inspector was great
got ahead of myself with the drywall
had it closed off and primed when he arived for the rough inspection
had lots of digital pics showing the construction and more clearance than what was reqd by code
also had the sawsall sitting there ready to go
he was cool and didnt make me open it up
anyhow its working good

Glad to hear that all went well with your install and inspection. It's exciting when you finally get things up and running and get to watch that first fire burn. And the winter weather just makes it that much more enjoyable! Got any post install pics you can link us to? ;-)
 
Hmm... title sounds like a sequel to Legend of a German... nevermind. Congratulations, and you're lucky the inspector wasn't a... nevermind. Glad he didn't make you cut into it.

You are going to love this stove, I have the 5100 insert, pretty much the same thing. This beast will give you an overnight burn on just 2 rounds and a split, with enough coals to start the next morning. I love this insert, I should use it more but I get too frustrated loading 2 stoves all day.....Some year I will go for the 24/7 both stoves but not just yet. Having a little guy takes a lot of my time :)

Get those pics up will ya, can't wait to see them :-)

saw 88 degrees in the house a couple days back
sure is nice to be warm
