Question:

I'm interested in having a fireplace in my condo but .....
a) there is no gas in the unit
b) I can't add a vent/chimney. Are there fireplace that are ventless and work w/ propane tanks like a BBQ? If so- please suggest some brand names because I'm having trouble finding them. How long would a tank last if used continuously?

Answer:

It is illegal to use a tank that is located in the apartment....And if one is outdoors- it must be OKed by the propane co...There are Vent-Free fireplaces available from many manufacturers. There are excellent electric fireplaces available today.
