Signed up with the town to get free wood last year, my first drop off was yesterday.

I know next to nothing about identifying trees, but just for fun I'll say ash.

Thanks for the help. They put the wood in a great place too.

Viewing it on my phone. Looks like ash!

Yep. Looks like ash and red maple. Although the yellow leaves lying around the logs are hard maple, but didn't know if those were from the load or from a nearby tree. Good combo.

I agree based on bark first 2 are ash. 3rd not sure about but others say maple.

Either way, good wood. free wood burns better. :p

Agreed.
I'm no expert but I am at ash. lol My favorite and most common so I see it every day.
Agreed on the maple. You guys already know this stuff. I'm still self training using the ID threads
currently.
I know our 4 main players at a glance, but still working on subspecies and less common trees
other than ash, oak, maple, and pine. (in that order in this area.) I can spot sassafras, willow,
poplar, elm, tulip, so I'm getting there. All thanks to you guys and accompanying cameras.
