theres a lot of good intel about heating on this site and its helped me answer some ? ive had ,im instaling old chappee boiler and not sure what primary circ conrtol and over temp honeywell to use any help or options and im not sure about bat back-up or no power open zone valve thanks mark

Welcome to Hearth.com and the boiler room evamaxx! Good to have you here. I think more specifics are in order for the folks to help you out as best they can. Tell us what size boiler it is. How many BTUs. Model would be good. I don't even know what an "old chappee" is. But I am no boiler expert that is for sure. Tell us what you are heating it with. And pics loaded up to show what is going on would be really helpful. A pic can say a thousand words. And can also start the right question being asked, and then .......

sorry its taken so long to get back the boiler is a 1985 chappee wood/coal boiler model ch36 185,000 btu not sure if that coal or wood but guess its coal ive got boiler al most piped in using a lot of this sites good recomendations not personaly but i resd past couple months pics will be soon hope all goes well but its a learning curve im going throrgh thanks mark

i had a chappee for over 30 years, it sprung a leak a couple years ago,,I upgraded to a bio mass [ huge improvement] my chappee had a honeywell L8124C1003 aquastat relay on the top of boiler and a strap on aqua stat for over heat [L6006c].you should have backup power for circulators, they over heat fast in power outage, plus they make a lot of creosote, the only thing i ever replaced on mine was the sampson draft control. they are simple and easy to operate but no longer made .i know of afew others that started leaking near the 30 year age,, good luck with yours

thanks for the feed back i guess i got take my chances with this chappe now hope it don't leak ? did you every fix the leak? or trash the boiler mark
