free oak log load

Got this oak log load from a construction site my buddy is foreman on.wondered how much wood do u think?
16 ft logs 8 average 15" across,1 is 9" across...thanks math wizards

all I know is that although it wont show up in BTU's "free" and "Delivered Free" oak is worth double what it stacks out to actually be. Good Score.

My buddy said 8 ft lengths on phone...oh well not complaining.started unloading last night.cutting into manageable pieces and rolling them off,may drag bottom ones off

yah at his job there building bridges through a woods for bike & walking trails.its a 600 acre chunk of county property and the tree co.that subcontracts only took the biggest best white oak.left all the red oak,burr oak,and hickory.still a huge pile of logs left,but guys he works with have next dibs.ton of quality btu's.
beginning of his job he had to walk around with tree co,and tree huggers to mark trees that absolutely couldnt be cut lol.took 2 weeks of cutting before they could get equipment into woods.3/4 of mile from road!
my 1/2 ton was working!!

thanks guys i was excited!! little nerve racking driving home but all good.
ive had a great summer scrounging and almost up on 3yr plan.fishing has suffered severely due to firewood hoarding.time to make that up during deer season and ice fishing.

I got a similar cuft analysis , but without trying to sound like a dbag I was pretty sure it should be 165/128 == 1.25 cords

Think real hard why 128 cubic feet of solid wood would be more than a cord of stacked firewood.

OP has closer to 2 cords than 1 cord.

You forgot the air. It is more like a cord of wood stacked has about 108 cu feet of solid wood in it.

108/128=.844 So your 1.25 cord calculation as if it was all solid needs to get divided by .844 (make it .85) 1.25/.85=1.47, so call it 1.5 cords.

If you think there is more or less solid wood in a cord than adjust.
