[Hearth.com] Gap Between Firebricks [Hearth.com] Gap Between Firebricks
Hello: To get a headstart on fall-winter, I had a company replace firebricks today. They replaced most, but not all of the bricks and reconfigured bricks so there are gaps in the middle of the firebox. No mortar was used. Gentleman said that ash would fill in gap. But it looks big to me. Any advice? New brick? Mortar?

Ash will fill the gaps quickly. It will be ok.

I agree with bg it will be fine. And mortar should not be used to set firebrick in a stove
