Great Day for some Cherry

Beautiful fall day I went out to where I cut and got some cherry that was in the trail, first time this season, felt good.I try to cut at least 4 cords every yr to stay a steady 4 yrs ahead. Well heres the first 1/3 cord of the season.

Nice work cptoneleg, you had a great day for it. We have some Cherry going in the Liberty tonight, this stuff is from what we never burned last year, giving the pine all the time I can before burning.

36 here this morning,not the 32 they had forecast.Still I threw in some more scrap,fist sized offcuts for a 2 1/2 hr burn.
60 right now,after high of 66 with plenty of sunshine.

62 in the house this morning. Burned about 5 splits and got the house to 68 quickly,

Its in the mid-40's here as we speak, so put a small load of white oak/locust scraps from the firepit stack in the 1900. House is a cozy 75° right now with half of the upstairs windows open and I have the stove shut all the way down........just some nice, blue, lazy secondaries. Gotta love that locust!

I'm burning a bit of Cherry right now. I've got about two cords on hand, one has been stacked for two Summers. Good wood for the first burn this year...

What happened, were you out of town? Chilly in these parts, last night and tonight.

Its been going down in the 40's around my area. I split and stacked some maple yesterday. It felt really nice to get back into splitting.

Only one load a day, i'm old and retired

1 load = 1/3 cord = 1 day

3 days = 1 full cord a week here is 2 ays worth

cherry is a very gnarly wood to split. But the smell of it in the stove is great. Nice work!

Same here.
That's pretty much how I do it. 1 load a day.

Hope to get started wood cutting soon. Getting ready for winter. Chores stacking up fast, you know how it is.
Still have to get out & retrieve moose camp.
Yard, Garden, Compost, Hoses, Vehicles, House, Wood. etc. (who did all this stuff when I was working LOL )

Not all cherry is gnarly stuff. Depends on where it has grown.
