it was on all the time it was not hooked up to a thermostatic control. i installed thermostatic controls on each rad but there is nothing to shut the pump of when there is no call for heat .i believe thats why the boiler was not getting to temp
 
it also wont get to temp if the refractory does get hot enough. i think once you turn the aquastst up to 180* you'll see a big change that you'll be very happy with.turn the house pump off will mostly save on your wood consumption because your not heatintg excess water for no reason. keep us posted on your progress.
 
i have installed the barometric damper and it burns better i also turned up the aqua stat to 180f it still does not reach that temp. I will install a wall stat so that the pump on the house side turns off once it reaches the set temp and that sould raise the temp on the boiler
 
Last time I am going to say it. Clean the Heat exchanger.
