Long story short

Side note: Near future 2 years down the road or so / MORSO or JOTUL

1000+ square foot house / basically 4 rooms + small kitchen / see diagram. New stove has been setting in front room for 2 years lol.. Never installed - it is a US 2000E? stove / for you guessed it / a lot of square feet lol.. When I went looking at tractor supply for the 1000 - 1200 ft version - the 2000E came home.. At that time, I didn't like the size size of the firebox (the 1200? ) ..No I didn't ask a lot of questions before buying, / etc.. It just happened.. I originally bought the triple wall duraplus stuff / logged on here - and ended taking the stuff back lol.. Stove has been sitting since :(

* my cart at Lindeman for Duratech Class A and Duravent DVL for this simple install is $2500+ .. My god $$$

Fast forwarding - finally wishing I really had the a stove installed.. As noted above - I have discovered MORSO and JOTUL stoves and would really like to have some time in near future.. One of the real questions is with the layout of the house - will the US 2000E run me out the house. Can you operate / use the stove half loaded / and not cause a lot of problems.. (it being a steel stove ) Should I sell it on marketplace, and get the US 1200? for now

If you look at pics - you can the the 100 yr old house is basically a square / rectangle cut in four squares / with a small kitchen in very back.. My room is behind the fireplace mantel wall / a thick wall .. ** One key note in picture of front room is the where the white door is sitting next to the stove - that was a walk throu - they dry walled the front - the backside was never finished. I am going to open it back up the a door.. Make a dutch door..

Ceiling are 9+ feet high. Going to put some vents high on walls / to help the temp loop thing etc..

All I have for heat right now is oil filled walmart heater in my room..

Without some convection help, the stove will overheat the room except for the coldest days. If a convection loop is established, then a smaller 4-5 split fire should be ok. Note that the Jotuls and Morsoes are mostly cast iron, radiant heaters with larger clearance requirements. Something like the PE Alderlea T4 or the Blaze King Ashford 20 is a good compromise. They have a cast iron jacket but are steel stoves at heart. The clearances are lower and the heat much softer which is better for small rooms.

To circulate the heat, pull off the doors separating the rooms (except maybe the bedroom). Then, put a table or box fan in the tv room, on the floor, pointed towards the stove room. Run the fan on low speed to keep it quiet.

4 - 5 split pieces would fill that thing up / stuff it.... The only way to 4 - 5 to be smaller / would be take a single piece and split it up..

At any rate .. ...

Looks like I need to sell off the US2000 - its new sitting on a crate - so should be able to find someone.. Get the smaller US 1200 .. Heck wish the US 900 version had a small window..

As for doors - if using I ANY stove I will just keep them open... Do plan on adding a few vents UP HIGH on walls - maybe even above the doors.. Would that help at all?? Doors being open..
