Had the New Enviro P3 Installed Today!

For those not aware, I had a bit of an ordeal getting my new stove, details can be found here.

Anyways, ended up with a new, red Enviro P3 installed today! So far so good, stove looks good and is throwing out some serious heat!

This being my first pellet stove, I've spent a lot of time observing it and trying a few things. Ran it on manual high (L5) for the first hour as per the installers, smoked up the house a bit but that's cleared up now. I now have it dialed back to level 2 on manual mode just so I can get a better idea of how it behaves on the various settings.

I'm not sure if the flame is supposed to be like a roller coaster or not, it will generally flame up and after a minute die back down before new pellets kick in and wooosh up it goes again. Felt the stove pipe outside and I'm not loosing much heat to the outdoors, infact I can even touch the stack inside the house above the stove and its warm to the touch but not hot.

Stove is running whatever pellets the installer brought (I wasn't here so I'm not sure), I'll be testing out my hardwood and softwood pellets from Gildale Farms over the next week, so far I've heard good things.

Will try to experiment with the comfort level settings tonight to see if I can find one. Will post updates as I go!

nice to see one of those install and up and running. On 2 it's pretty common for the flame to go up and down a fair bit. As the stove builds up some dust over the next 2-3 week it should settle down some. You will love those pellets from gilldale farm, i've been realy impressed with both their hard and soft wood quality.
Was the draft set as per the instructions or they leaving it up to you to adjust as the stove settles in?

Install people really didn't seem to know anything about it so I'm sure I'll be figuring everything out on my own...lucky me.

Shut it down tonight to take it apart and see how things looked inside. Found a few whole pellets down in the ash bucket, is this common for them to bounce right down into there? Not to sound cheap but that seems like a waste.

The biggest difference I've noticed so far from the Mini-A is that the side panel needs to be removed in order for draft adjustment. Not going to touch anything until I get the Gilldale pellets in and see how they work first.

That's a shame they didn't know much about it. Most enviro stove now leave off the external air control and would perfer the installer to set the air draft and lock it in place.
They are great preforming machines once you get them figured out. Our store typically sells 15-20 mini's a year and haven't had much in the way of complaints. Most issues that come up are related to cleaning or draft setting.
I wouldn't say its common for pellets to bounce into the ash pan, it can happen on occasion. I would make sure that everything is sitting tight together. Usally if the back of the burn pot liner is up 1/8 inch or more it can be hard to start the stove and pellets can bounce easier

Its been a couple weeks and we have settled in with the stove. Turns out the draft was never set when it was installed so I did that after a few days of lean burning. Since then the stove has been running much better, came home to the house at 25'C the other day.

Any updates on this stove? I'm trying to decide between it and a Harmon Eccentra for my 1240 sq ft New house with open floor plan and tight/good insulation. Our temps here in NE Az are not extreme and this will be used to offset the elec furnace for 3-4 months out of the year, so I don't need a killer stove, nor do I want to spend a fortune, but I want something that works well with minimum upkeep. Thanks.
