does anyone know where to take an accurate temp reading or temp gauge placement for this unit. dealer wasnt helpful at all...tks

The manual says you don't want to get the top glowing, which you can see through the slot where the air comes out. That'd be a good place to aim an IR thermometer. Some people put a contact thermometer in there, but then have to use a mirror to read it, as I recall.
