Harman accentra insert distribution cleaning

Hey All,

I have searched this site to try and understand how to properly clean my distribution blower. (manual was no help)
Im pulling my insert for my first ever 1 ton cleaning, (along with leaf blower trick) thanks to you guys, and a lot of reading on here, i think im ready..
My question is how to access the distribution blower for cleaning as I have 2 dogs at home, and iI dont want to miss anything. Is the access on the bottom of the unit? do I need to roll/prop up the insert to get to it?
what tools will i need ? will I need a lot of extra hands to do this?

I will have only about 4-5 inches to work under the stove once its on the rails

if the hair is a problem ,cut a strip of blue or green washable filter and put the strip in front of the fan or under the valance to catch the hair before it gets to the fan blades.

You will need to tip the stove onto its front. I rest it on a couple of pellet Bags. Be Careful with the Door and Glass. Safest is to remove the Door. The Motor can be blown out. If the Fan is really dirty, and they can get the dust packed right up into the fins, you can remove it by undoing three nuts. Its attached by the wiring so it has to be cleaned at the stove.

Your stove probably can be ok with a season of dust and hair etc. Just make sure you get it done before the next season.

If you roll it on the glass pull out the flame guide so it does not come crashing through the glass, and unscrew the door handle and also remove so that does not get bent

I have 3 steps and out. You would not believe the soot that comes out of the stove. When you think you have it all, you angle the air tip in another direction in the air wash slot and your covered in soot again. It is the way to do it.

I stack full pellet bags in front of the stove and then tip the whole unit forward to about 25-30 degrees - far enough that it can't fall backwards. I remove the distribution blower - 3 nuts and pull out the wiring. Then I take the blower to the shop and vacuum and blow it out. Next, I vacuum the recess where the blower was located using a long hose on my wet-dry vac. Running the wires to re-install the blower is a bit of a trick the first time, but it gets easier the more you do it.

um, does it make any difference if its the new 52i or the previous year models of the accentras? I know my new 52i is a lot different from my buddies (like I don't have to push a brush thru the system as the redesign gives easy access to the combustion area and the combustion fan)
