Can anyone help? I bought graphite powder, not too sue how to apply.
Thx in advance,
Marina

There are a few threads that have been updated/started recently on this. A search of "Harman squeal" and "Harman squeak" should find them.
Short story, it's likely the auger "ringing" as it is forced off-center by some carbon buildup.

Let us know how you make out. My Harman started 'squealing " again, I cranked it up to the max for awhile , and it went away. Twice now it's worked.. Going to do a cleaning Sunday, high of 50..

You can try use it as the hopper is almost empty and shoot in some on the pellets and let them burnish the auger and tube. Was suggested by Kernel Burner for their furnace and boilers as they had a 4 foot feed tube. Check and clean your fines box while your into the project.

Success..emptied hopper, mixed a squeeze of graphite powder and pelles...poured into hopper, cleaned stove and no squeek! Thx

I see you joined in 2008. How old is your P68? What problems if any have you had and what parts if any have you replaced assuming you have a 6-7 year old stove. Thanks and Have a Great 2015.

I am starting my 6 th season, I love the P 68, I call it lovingly "the beast." I have had the igniter replaced, that is it. I clean it weekly and read this forum daily..and have only used Barefoots....

I have an extremely hard house to heat and the 68 does it well. Two levels, high ceilings, lots of glass, etc; I was amazed of the performance of these units. Beast is an understatement IMO. >> I mainly bought it for shoulder season and now it has turned into my main heat source. The only one I am using now. My firewood will become good and seasoned now.

Glad to hear of the dependability! I am thrilled with mine. This forum is better than sliced bread. It's a MUST have. The most valuable tool in the arsenal. Happy New Year and Happy Burning, cape! Six years and one igniter replacement........ an auger lube. I can deal with that. Thanks for the answers. I was curious to see how some 68 owners have done. Very similar to other Harman units in general.
