Has anyone ever tried to burn pea coal in a pellet stove?

I'm not about to try this, but it seems like maybe at the lowest auger settings and feed rates it could possibly work?
 
from what i understand coal burns WAY hotter than pellets, and would more than likely damage something by overfiring, not to mention the pellet pipe that is rated at 500 degrees, and all the clearances for the pipe too.
 
All coal augers I know feed from the bottom - Harman makes coal stokers that are similar to their pellet units.
but doing this in a pellet stove is a death wish. Coal creates odorless CO which can easily kill, to say nothing of it's capability to melt iron.
 
Look into the BTU between Pellet and Coal. Do not attempot it.
