Hello
We want to build a fireplace hearth and attach to finished basement wall that is furring strips and sheetrock. How do I attach to wall?

What type of fireplace is this for? Do you have a make and model?

For an electric hearth, almost any sort of tie would do. Straps, L-brackets, cleat, etc.

Thank you but I need to know if it would be safe to attach to furring strips under the walls in a finished basement. I want to move the fireplace higher up a fireplace wall?

That would depend on how well the furring strips are attached and how thick they are. If in doubt or for a heavy unit, the anchors could be set into the actual masonry wall.
