Hi,
I bought a used Lopi Yankee pellet stove recently. I installed it and noticed that there are a few embers flying out of the chimney pipe once in a while. It is a horizontal chimney. I put some 1/8 inch wire mesh in the end of the chimney and it plugged within 2 days. Any suggestions? Or can I go without the spark arrestor? It looks like the guy i bought it from never used one. Thanks in advance!!! Rob

Do you even have a cap on the chimney?

If you are direct venting (right out the wall) you are going to get a little sparks (fly ash) out because you are so close to the blower and have nothing to trap the fly ash.

I WILL NEVER DIRECT VENT A PELLET STOVE.

no screen on pellet vent
You have found out why they plug up.
