Chimney amazing what a few more feet of chimney pipe will do for draft. that being said it might not be enough to overcome pressure issues that could develop in your house to the weird weather. sometimes few feet is the difference between a nice looking Chimney and a goofy looking Chimney.
i believe that it is about 8 foot above the roof and that makes it 5-6 feet above the peak. (it is more in the middle of the roof and not at an outside edge so it is only about 4 foot away from the peak) it has one brace on it now and I think if I add another 2 or 3 foot I will still be good without another brace. I also agree with the few feet makes a difference between a nice looking chimney and a goofy one.
