Our home also came with this unit in the basement. It's set up to provide heat into the return air of the HVAC. I have not found any information on this stove. Any assistance would be appreciated.

It looks to me like a 1970's fireplace insert probably built at local weld shop adapted to be used like a wood furnace.
Not sure about that. I think that may have been added as part of building it into the HVAC. But it could be used as one I suppose.
It's just an old 70s or early 80s fisher copy probably made somewhat locally. That was rigged as a makeshift hot air furnace.
Sounds like we need to pull this one out and replace with a new(er) stove. This dinosaur will go well out in the workshop. Hope putting in a new flue doesn't become a major nightmare...
