Help me choose a free standing insert!!

what do you mean by free standing insert?
 
How much space are you trying to heat? how big is the fireplace? how much do you want to spend?
 
You will most likely want to re-line the chimney so with that in mind i would look at a med to large steel stove Englander, Drolet, Heatilator eco-choice would be a good place to start
