Hi! So we ended up with a Fisher fireplace insert recently, and now we are in a rut as to how to install it safely and correctly in our fireplace hole.
As far as I was able to find out, it seems to be be missing the damper. Will I need that or is it an optional thing?
In the existing fireplace, there is a chimney liner that is doublelined and is 4 inches diameter on the inside and 5 to the outside part. (Pictures are included) I've think I've figure out from other posts that legally I need at least a 7 inch liner? Is this correct? What size liner do I need and where do you purchase those?
Then I believe the final inquiry (until I get stuck on more) is how do I connect the fireplace to the liner? Do I need a boot of some sort? Is there a way to directly connect?
Any help would be so so appreciated, thank you all so much!
