Honey locust cover or not

So I have been seasoning this locust firewood all last summer and obviously this summer. I read I might want to top cover it this summer due to it on retains rain water. I have the locust stacked 3 rows deep on pallets. And oh yeah it was split and stacked last summer too. Should I cover this stuff or not cover it til fall?

cover before it snows. until then get as much wind through those stacks as possible.

It is slow drying stuff unfortunately. Great wood once it is dry however.

Locust is like iron. It can lay on the ground ten years. You might want it dry before burning, but it won't sikas up any moisture.

18 months here. Never covered. I do live in a very dry area with low humidity and lots of wind. Ymmv.

Gotcha. I usually proofread them. I did learn another deer species.

I take the bark off the trunk spits and use that to cover the tops of my locust stacks. I overlap the pieces like roofing tiles. 18mo-2 yrs has worked for me for seasoning.
