Ive burned this row of pallets here (4 and a quarter length worth stacked about 3.5-4 ft high, 36” deep or so) plus where the fresh oak is stacked. Since about the 3rd week in October. I’d guess 1.5ish cord keeping the house 70-72, some times a little warmer. How’s everyone else been doing?

Im almost halfway through this winters supply which is about where I should be so id say 1.5 cords

Maybe a cord, been changing my loadings and trying not to overheat the house and its working well and saving some wood. I just get a bit over zealous and love loading that thing full but with a small very well insulated space its just too many BTUs.

About 1 cord.
Was happy with the warm spell as I was afraid to be going to be running out depending on how February and March go.

Good question. Definitely more so than any year in the past. I have no idea though as i have multiple small stacks scattered in the yard.
A wild guess would be 1-1.5 cords. Maybe more as i was doing about a wheel barrow full every 2-3 days, For most of November -December. Was also burning in Oct.

It's 59f inside today and 50f outside this afternoon Still have not lit the stove.
A long very cold stretch is on the way and looks like it's staying for a long time. So trying to save some wood as i'll be burning like crazy starting tomorrow night.

Will have some fire later this afternoon though.

Every year I tell myself I’m going to calculate/log how much I use. Every year I fail at that. Sorry. 😂

That means you use "just enough" each year..😃
Maybe next year will be the year?
doubt it! 🤣

Have gone through one of the 2 cord sheds and a handful of totes. Would guesstimate 2.6 cord so far? On track to burn the average amount I have burned in the past. Having 2 fires going whenever temp is around freezing or below to keep house around 72*.

Less than a cord. Warmest December on record and November had more like Sept. temps. Past two day have been warm again, 50º at night, which means the heat pump is warming the house. This is definitely not good for our glaciers or snowpack.

Have you had the rain there? My friend in Victoria has been talking about the rain, and I know they are on edge for flooding east of Vancouver too. If there is snow in the mountains, and rain this spring, it could be lake forming. The only good thing would be if it sends the water south I guess to LA ect

Western WA and OR have gotten a lot. At our house, we have had about normal rainfall, but we are in a rain shadow area. Go 30 miles north or south and they have been getting soaked. My friends up north have already had over 8" of rain this year. We are at 2.65".

I'm right at a cord burned so far. Which is about right for our situation here.

About half to 3/4 of this tiny rack. 😆 Daytime temps have been too warm. If temps are over low 40's during the day I don't burn. But looks like we have some cold temps coming starting next weekend if the forecast sticks.

I'm guessing maybe 1/4 cord...and that's being generous. I've lived here in middle NM for 28 years and this has been the biggest non-winter (so far) that I've seen. I don't think there have been more than a half dozen days with highs less than 50° f, and the forecast for late Jan is in the 60s. I'm guessing I'll be re-stacking a lot of my wood come late March.

I have burned just over 1.5 cord, maybe closer to 1.75, right about where I should be. We had a cold snap in Dec. but that was offset by warm weather so far in most of Jan. Now cold weather is forecast for the rest of Jan.
I find that it pretty much averages out most years.

Would love to see your set up, going by the avatar pic.

We built our house with the wood burning furnace in mind. The firewood comes in through a 1/2 height door in an egress well with a chute installed that the firewood slides down.
The wood is stacked in this area right next to the Caddy. I pile about 4 1/2 cords down there, more than enough to heat the house for the full season.
