I installed a new combustion motor on my jamestown 1000 insert...since this is an aftermarket motor I had to mount it very close the the combustion fan housing....I know it's getting hot from the exhaust plus the heat it produces on its own...this motor does not come with its own cooling fan opposite the main shaft..the question is should I be worried about thermal overload or can this type of motor handle extreme heat....any input would be appreciated
how much heat can a c frame exhaust motor endure???

Feeling the Heat
You said it was aftermarket. It's it meant for a pellet stove? If so then I wouldn't worry about it.
Oftentimes the motor technical documentation gives an operating temp. range. Is there any documentation available for your new motor? Did the old motor have two cooling fans, on either side of the motor? Can you put the one from the old motor on the new motor?
