I just called lowes and there going to deliver wood pellets they asked me what kind i wanted..
Inferno,
Maine's Choice,
Green Supreme
what one would you people recommend?

Thank you

I told them Maine choice but wasn't sure if one better than the others.. I can always have them change it.. just wasn't sure..

yeah. ask if they have (or will be getting) others or wait. but above all else, NOT INFERNOS

find out what home depot has?

Hate to say it, but none of them are any good. The Infernos are the worst, and a close tie to the GS & MC.

As suggested above, try calling and ask if they will put your order on hold, and whether or not they have any other brands coming in.

Bottom line, if you have to get the order delivered now, I'd try to split the order between the GS & MC.

I burned a ton of MC last year as shoulders - yes, some ash but decent heat. They didn't strike me as all that bad. I bought FSUs for marginal season burning this year instead - better, closer. For me, the MCs beat the GS hands down. GS were just plain god awful, like the Warm Fronts and the local edition of NEWPS (all the same pellet here about). Haven't had the privilege of using Infernos yet . . .

Is this your first year burning? If so, some great advice that folks on this forum have given is to try 3-5 bags of each brand first if this is something that time will allow for. See which ones your stove likes best and go from there. I've tried 2 of the 3 you listed (GS and MC) and they burned the same, as with other brands I've tried. My stove doesn't seem to care.

Thanks everyone for all your replies!! This is my 3rd year burning.. i got an amazing deal on the pellets that's why i jumped on the bid.. the first year i used the Green team (Very good i might add) very pleased!! The 2nd and 3rd year i used Maine choice. There ok but quite a bit of ash.. What happen i bought 165 bags little over 3 tons of pellets i was able to get them all for 518.00 bucks i couldn't pass it up.. I have a bunch of 30.00 off 150.00 order from lowes i have tons of these coupons. So i made 5 different online orders and than went to lowes and asked them to ship them all. i went there because i wanted to make sure there was no confusing. So they took care of that and than they called me back later on asking what brand of pellets i wanted i immediately said grenn teams the woman said sorry those are 279.99 a ton. She said its out of the 3 i mention. So i figure i would ask to see what everyone else thought.

maines woods are a far superior pellet to maines choice. don't confuse them. your stove won't.

lowes has been hawking the GT's as their premium brand for a while now, and with it, the 279 price tag instead of the 219 one.

Is there a way you could get delivery from Salem, NH? They stock Nature's Own, which IMHO is the best choice.
