I think I fixed it, experts?

my little chimney problem. I think I fixed it, but I need expert opinion. Also, I got what claims to be fire rated silicone sealant that "meets ASTM E-814, UL 1479 and UL 2079" standards. I have no ideas what that means, but I hope that's the right stuff....damn expensive too.

Anyway, I took the weights off the collar this morning, looks good to me, what do you guys think?

Also, how do you suggest I seal the space between the flue liner and the collar? That was never done by the installer, it seems.

That looks like my install did! I ended up cutting a new top plate and drving some screws in 4 places. I also used some high temp silocone to seal it all up. It really doesn't get all that hot at the top. I let my stove blaze and it was hot but like 200 or 300 degrees hot not 1200. If you have a block off plate you will not notice much of a difference except at startup and cleaning the chimney. If you do not have a block off plate you are losing a fair amount of heat out the top. Trust me, been there and done that! Good luck!

Yeap, the silicone you have will be good to seal around the liner where it passes through the plate.
