Igniter advice for St Croix

My Afton Bay will be into it's 7th season this year. Original igniter-and in the cool season on and off sometimes 6 times a day. Seems like a good idea to at least buy it and have it on hand.
Two choices! OEM for $96 or the so called super igniter $117 that lasts longer. My only issue with the super is it does not come with the attached bushing and supposedly you can use washers instead. That kind of bothers me a little. Interested what others think

I have had absolutely NO SUCCESS is using after market igniters on st croix stoves if that helps you

Thanks Scott! I took it out today and there is no way I would rig some bunch of washers to replace the factory weldment that comes on the rod. Seems like an accident looking to happen doing that!

No don't try that. It's 500w vs. 250w it's 5" vs. 3 3/4" and there is no fitting.

I bought the OEM one from Eses Stoves for $98 and free shipping. I though about putting it in but after seeing just how easy they come out it just seemed stupid to replace one that is still working.. Never know I might get 10yrs out of it.

No don't try that. It's 500w vs. 250w it's 5" vs. 3 3/4" and there is no fitting.

I have been using one for the past 1yr and have had no issues but i will agree the one i have is 300 watts. all you have to do is attach a collar to the end and install.

Have gone through 4 of the igniters from grainger, now I'll try the Ebay one listed. If it craps out after 1 ton of pellets like the others, I'll get an OEM one.

Before installing another igniter, make sure the voltage to it is off when the stove is running. Once the room blower starts, the voltage to the igniter should shut off.

How long did the Grainger ones last?
