Do alot of you folks use one of them and were did you buty it which is a decent brand. I dont want to spend alot of money because i just want to check stove temp. Unless there is another use for them

I got the Harbor Freight one, too. Works ok for me. Standard price is $40 but often on sale or with coupon for $30. Sometimes you see it also for $20 e. g. on black Friday. It will depend on how long you can wait.

Harbor Freight . . . got it for $29.99. Still works, but for some reason the laser pointer no longer works.

I have the HF model as well. I say it works great but honestly, I'm not comparing it to a known reliable source so I could be wrong. :)

I know the magnetic ones I have on my stovetop read 200* different from each other and the HF one has a digital readout so it must be accurate, right? ;)

Harbor Freight model on Black Friday for $20.00. Have no Idea if it's accurate.

Can you one of you guys try it on your cooking stove.Set the temp for 350 and see what it reads .Lets see how accurate it is

But..how accurate is your stove thermostat? Mine seems to run hot, set a 350 the wife still burns the heck out of things!

Dittos on the Harbor Freight Model.

Dittos on the wife.

The once they sell at Harbor Freight only go up to 970F degrees.

I would believe that the fire box temperature is hotter then 970F

Models that go up to 1400F to 1900F seem to be much more expensive
