I've never been a big fan of inserts but sometimes they fit the bill if you have a small room and need a flush install due to clearance restraints. I went back and forth with my install and ended up with a stove with a modified fireplace.View attachment 109624

Wow that is nice! Any more pics or info on your setup? Hearth depth etc?

Thanks! The hearth depth ranges from 22" from the back brick wall on the end to 42" in the dead center. It is about 81" lengthwise. The distance from the edge of the stove to the edge of the hearth is about 12-15" from the edge of the hearth near the middle and 25" on the sides (but keep in mind the hearth is 8.5 inches high which gets added into the clearances). It didn't have to be quite that large, but I wanted a bit of a safety factor as it was a new model when I got it in late 2011.
