Aloha.
I'm building a small guest home in southern Arizona (Patagonia). About 935 sq feet, well insulated. Mild four seasons, but big temp shift at night in the winter (avg 30 degrees December thru Feb) at that elevation (4500 feet). Floorplan supports a fireplace, but I think I would prefer the look of an inset.

Any recommendations?

That's a built-in, zero-clearance (ZC) fireplace. Are you looking for wood or gas? In wood, there are many choices BIS, Quadrafire, Napoleon, FPX, RSF Energy, Kozy Heat are big brands. For a more contemporary look maybe Wittus?
