Interesting splitter on NY Craig's List

Electric Log Splitter by Ramsplitter. This is not the cheesy wheel barrow type that you see most people selling. This is a heavy duty splitter with a 2" hitch that can be pulled like a trailer. I got this without a motor a year ago and stuck a Marathon 1.5 hp farm duty motor on it (which was the stock size for the electric version). You could just as easily convert it to gas if you have a engine laying around to put on it. This is a great machine to have for the winter burning season. I split a mountain of wood with it but remodeled my home this summer and got rid of my woodstove so I no longer need it.

If it works, and I wanted one, this would be the splitter for me. I don't think I could handle the noise of a gas one.

I think these are perfect for those of us on urban/suburban lots and split in the place all the time anyway. You get the power and performance of a bigger splitter with flip of the switch convenience and no engine maintenance. I have had zero issues since making the gas to electric switch.

I seen a ford/new holland splitter here in ohio
i did a search and it looked like a pretty stout machine
cant remember the model
electric powered chain driven screw drive with gearbox reversing mechanism
missed out on buying it
wanted 200 dollars thought it would be something neat to own
